Services
Whether you are here as a new client, an existing client coming back for more help or a fellow professional - there is something for you
What kind of services do you offer?
For most people when they think of an “interior designer” they think of soft finishes like couches, chairs, linens or simply making things pretty. This is a common misconception and is actually an interior decorator, not an interior designer. While an interior designer can do interior decorating, an interior decorator cannot do what an interior designer does which includes floor plan changes, trade schedules, and renovation management. So, you’re still wondering what can I do for you. Good question. Take a look around this page to decide what might be right for you and your project.
Why should you get an interior designer?
Simply put, I can help you organize your ideas and help you communicate with a contractor to get what you really want. But there is so much more to it than that. If you have ever taken on a remodeling project, no matter how big or small, you know there is so much more to it than picking out pretty pictures on Pinterest and showing your contractor. There are more decisions to make than you could have ever anticipated! So let’s look at this a little deeper.
Budget - I can help you define what your budget will actually look like and help you stick within it. Budgets can get blown very easily, and in the end you will be unhappy with the product if the costs got out of control. In construction time is very literally money, I can help you reign in the costs and time if your project has already started.
Defining your vision - My job is to sit with you and weed through all of the thoughts, ideas, pictures and inspiration you have to find a solution that works for you. I will learn how, who and when. Meaning who is living in your space, and how they will use it, and what it looks like to optimize your space to accommodate the way you want to live life in your home.
Inside knowledge - I understand what is needed from both sides of construction, your side and the contractor. It helps us be prepared for what is coming, the challenges we will face and the ways we can avoid misunderstanding, bumps in the road and be proactive in solutions. (psst, this saves you money!)
Saving you time and money - Most people think, well if you are saving me money won’t I just be spending it when I pay you, so why would I pay you instead of doing it myself? I can save you money by anticipating potential problems, helping navigate contract hiccups like “allowances”, trade discounts on goods that are only available to interior designers, and problem solving to bring the budget back in check. In addition to that, I will work with the contractor to make schedules so the job is as streamlined as possible.
Color Consultation
This is a pretty basic concept, I will come into your home and work with you to decide on a congruous color and paint scheme that works with the natural lighting in your home, giving you the ambiance you desire in your home.
Interior Decorating
I come in and help with the soft finishes in your home including couches, chairs, linens, tables, etc. This can be a single room, or an entire floor.
Floor Plan Optimization
This is a service that we typically use at the beginning of a project to help understand the flow of a space. If you are considering a remodel, it is most helpful before you have met with your contractor and usually includes a floor plan mock-up to base the estimate off of. There are other times that you just need to reimagine the way you use a space and a full remodel isn’t necessary.
Space Refresh
Sometimes there are spaces we already love, they just need a little, well, love! When we do this we call it a refresh. This is different than interior decorating, it means taking a bigger step in the process. A refresh might mean changing the floor or tile, adding or replacing cabinetry, changing a bedroom into an office or a similar project.
Renovation Management
This is the big mama! I can help you through the whole process of a renovation from the beginning floor plan adjustments, contractor meetings, design specifications, trade schedules, textile choices and procurement, implementation of the design, and wrap up. This allows you to be more hands off once we have nailed down the design together
New Construction
If renovation management is the big mama, this is the big papa! If you are planning a new build or purchasing a soon to be finished project, please contact me for further information on how I can help. These are large projects that have a lot of nuance and have lots of different variables. But I am here to help!
